The Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO) was established in 1995 during the 7th educational development plan. On April 11, 2003, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi reorganized the Center of Operation for Field Robotics Development into “Institute of Field Robotics”. FIBO researches, develops, and provides innovations that will benefit the society. The institute specializes in courses and degrees in robotics and automation. This is our history.
1995, Center of Operation for Field Robotics Development established by Dr. Djitt Laowattana with the mission to research and provide academic services
2000, Thai Robotic Society (TRS) established to support, promote, and share knowledge of robotics to the general public. TRS also built the network of researchers and scholars at higher education institutions that helps facilitate the development of robot technology in Thailand and various robotics competitions.
2002, The Center supported ABU ROBOT CONTEST, the first robot competition in Thailand for vocational training students and university students, which has been held annually til the present.
2003, The Center was reorganized into “Institute of Field Robotics”. FIBO researches, develops, and provides innovations that will benefit the society. The institute specializes in courses and degrees in robotics and automation.
