Abstract

After the receptionist robot “NAMO” by the Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi was revealed, many organizations, both government and private sectors, had sent FIBO invitations to their events. Thus, FIBO has recognized the demand for receptionist robots. However, our prototype of the receptionist robot – NAMO has many limitations. FIBO saw the need to develop the receptionist robot with more durability and practicality.

FIBO has collected data, researched, and develop the technology with the support from “Project to support research, put results into practice, and develop further research and invention” by the National Research Council of Thailand. After the launch of NAMO, FIBO was aware of its problems and limitations. Therefore, the research has been continued to develop the second robot named “OHM” for public relations works. OHM was designed to be a younger brother of NAMO. It is strong, agile, adventurous, and loves to study. OHM is capable of recording through video cameras attached to its head and projecting memories through a built-in projector at its chest.
