Abstract

Climate change and global warming are constantly and violently affect the world. The main cause of climate change and global warming is the excessive amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that is a consequence of humans’ daily lives in which natural resources and energy are consumed excessively, whether to burn fuel for transportation or household consumption. Problems and effects of global warming are urgent issues that require cooperation from everyone. There are two ways to deal with the issues: mitigation and adaptation, both of which may help resolve the problems to a certain extent but the effective and sustainable solution is to change people’s behavior.

Therefore, the Carbon Footprint Organization is the concept of calculating greenhouse gas emissions by using scientific techniques to help understand the amount of greenhouse gas that is hidden in the production of products, services, or activities. It also acts as a way to measure the amount of carbon being emitted by activities of a department or an agency of the local government on a daily basis. The amount of carbon is calculated into units “CO2 equivalent”, which will show how much a product, a service or an activity emits the greenhouse gas and will allow us to find new ways to reduce the impact.
